Sophie has worked in financial services for over 15 years, following the achievement of her Honours degree in Economics. She started her career as a graduate trainee in 2004, and became a qualified adviser a year later. In 2007, she came runner up with the Financial Times’ ‘Newly Qualified Adviser of the Year’ award. After becoming an established adviser, Sophie was promoted into a Sales Manager role, looking after graduate trainees, financial planners, administration and paraplanning units. Her career then moved in to acquisitions to help grow the national wealth management business she previously worked for. Sophie joined Quilter Private Client Advisers in August 2015 as Acquisitions Manager, assisting in growing the assets under management and establishing the regional offices throughout the country.

Gareth has worked in Financial Services for over 14 years having commenced his career within Banking. He has enhanced his knowledge through a number of roles including Paraplanner, Mortgage Adviser and Financial Planner and achieved his Diploma in Financial Planning back in 2011. Gareth joined Quilter Private Client Advisers in 2016 and now has the responsibility of developing our Graduate Trainees as they progress through our training program in conjunction with the Financial Adviser School.

Mike graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a first class honours degree in Business & ICT. With this background, Mike prides himself on building strong client relationships and enjoys helping clients realise and achieve their financial goals. Having graduated from the Financial Adviser School, Mike has a Diploma in Financial Advice and a mortgage advice qualification. Mike specialises in giving holistic financial advice to individuals on their investments and retirement planning needs.

Michael has particular expertise in the area of pension transfers, investments and estate planning, and thrives on helping clients find innovative solutions to reach their financial planning objectives.

John has a wealth of experience having been a financial adviser for over 20 years.  John is a Financial Planner and also holds the specialist qualification to provide advice upon final salary pension schemes. 

John started his career as Independent Financial Adviser working in the City of London and Mayfair and latterly providing Independent Financial Advice to High Net Worth Individuals at HSBC.

John has particular expertise in the area of investments, pensions, trusts, Inheritance Tax mitigation and estate planning.  John’s core expertise is providing Wealth Management and intergenerational solutions to wealthy individuals. 

John has a loyal client bank, the majority of whom have remained clients for an average of 15 years or more.

John passionately believes that financial planning is a long term solution that produces the best results when combined with regular reviews and in depth understanding of client’s objectives and changing circumstances.

John joined Quilter Private Client Advisers in 2016.

Steve started in the industry as an independent financial adviser in 1988 and he still looks after his first two clients 27 years later. He co-founded his own investment company, which expanded to employ 35 advisers and manage £400m of client assets, before selling the business in 2008. Steve’s main areas of expertise are around investment and retirement planning, including inheritence tax planning.

He deals with various clients on a daily basis and has successfully maintained a loyal client bank by providing bespoke solutions to help them meet their financial goals and aspirations.

Nick joined Quilter in December 2018, having previously worked as a Director of a Financial Practice in South Manchester. Away from work Nick has a passion for most sports and cars, but most of all time with his daughter.

Hannah first joined the industry from a mathematical background, through the Financial Adviser School, where she enjoyed studying whilst working alongside advisers.

Hannah’s favoured areas of advice include helping clients plan for their retirement goals, and breaking down investment jargon. She retains a keen interest in investments and estate planning.

In addition to her diploma, Hannah currently holds financial qualifications in Long Term Care and mortgages and is studying further exams to gain chartered status.
